December is by far my favorite month of the year. Because as most of you probably know...I love Christmas. It's bitter cold in Seattle right now but despite the temperatures there's just an all around cozy feeling in the air. All of the lights, all of the tree stands and all of the decorations...I love it all.
When we were in Iceland last week, Reykjavik was decked out to the max. Pretty much every restaurant and every shop had a live Christmas tree out front decorated in white lights...and most of the trees were hanging above the doors. We flew Iceland air and even the inside of the plane was decorated for Christmas.
Here are a few pictures that I snapped to get you in the holiday spirit:
And a cute shot of my sweet little angel in Reykjavik as the sun was rising at about 10am:
The daylight hours are so short there during the winter...maybe that's why they put lights everywhere...to brighten things up a bit. I have noticed the past few years that in South Lake Union and downtown Seattle, the white lights that are put up on all the trees during the holidays tend to stay up until about March...perhaps to brighten up our long dreary winters!
Happy Holidays and Happy Tuesday!
